From the Stewardship Journal Team

It might be September, but it’s time to start thinking about your end-of-year giving plans! Don’t worry. The Stewardship Journal has started the thinking, planning, and praying process for you with this edition of the Journal. Here is what you can learn in this issue:

As always, Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, sets the tone for our Journal this week with his post, The Coach’s End-of-Year Planning Edition. If you have read Mark for any length, you know that much of his advice is based on the various seasons in church life. December has always been a huge month for giving, and Mark helps us know how to maximize this crucial time of the year.

Mark’s Bonus Section, The Coach’s Playbook for End-Of-Year Giving, gives you an overview of how to communicate your ask’s vision. This would be a great one-page discussion starter for your team to review as they help you plan your best end-of-year giving campaign ever.

Our final post, A Wake-Up Call to Engage Donors, provides an update on the state of giving in America. The article contains new findings on the shifting landscape of American Generosity. You will learn that while total dollars given to charity have increased, the giving percentage is declining. This post probes for solutions on how best to engage disengaged donors.

Remember, all articles can be found at https://stewardshipjournal.com/. Thanks for reading. Let us know if there is a stewardship topic you would like us to focus on! Let’s start working on your best end-of-year giving ever.

In Jesus’ name!
