From The Stewardship Journal Team
We are excited to welcome you to another edition of the Stewardship Journal.
Is debt unbiblical for a church? Is debt practical for a church? When does it make sense to pay off a debt, and when should you not pay off a debt? Those are a few of the questions and issues Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, addresses in his column post entitled Debt Management Advice for Pastors. I believe you will find this post helpful as you plan out your future.
With the Journal, we don’t simply tell you to do something. We show how to do what we write about. This is the primary purpose of our Bonus Section. This week’s edition, entitled A Sample One-Page Debt Reduction Vision, gives you a perfect example of how to use vision to pay down debt.
Last week, we interviewed Greg Fine, the soon-to-be-retired Senior Pastor of FBC Higginsville, about the value of pastoral longevity. This week, we follow that up with a post entitled 10 Reasons Long-Term Pastorates Matter by Chuck Lawless, the Dean of Doctoral Studies and Vice-President of Spiritual Formation and Ministry Centers at Southeastern Seminary.
On January 8th, 2024, the Stewardship Journal will become national as we see more states joining. We are excited about this new opportunity. We believe this move will help us increase what we offer, broadening our list of contributors such as Chuck Lawless’ post. Your continued readership of the Journal helps us determine our future involvement. The journal is designed to help you create and sustain a culture of generosity based on biblical principles. Let us help you be fully funded for the present and for the future!
In Jesus name!
