From the Desk of Our Executive Director
Welcome to another edition of the Stewardship Journal.
Do you give yourself time to think, plan, and pray about the future? That is the question and topic of Mark Brooks,’ The Stewardship Coach, column entitled Preparing for the Future. Here is a quote from his post, “The typical pastor and staff member has so many balls in the air that alone time for reflection gets pushed back and ultimately ignored. But without a vision, your people will perish. Vision, in my experience, takes time both to germinate and then to sow into the hearts of those who can and will help you see that vision to completion.” Mark, in his post, shares key points about how you can prepare for the future.
Are you continuing to plan for your end-of-year giving offering? In our Bonus Section, A Sample Letter to Leadership, we give you a sample letter showing how to connect your leaders to the vision of your end-of-year appeal. Getting leaders onboard with the offering ahead of time is key to the success of your offering. This sample letter shows you how to accomplish this.
Today much of your end-of-year offering revolves around online giving. To help prepare you for this, our final post is entitled The $300 Case for Online Giving. The post starts with this observation, “Just having online giving, no matter how it was emphasized, increased per capita giving of regular participants by $300 per person annually.” According to a Faith Communities Today (FACT) study. Read this post to find out how online giving can help not only your end-of-year offering but also your year-round giving.
