Welcome to another edition of the Stewardship Journal.

Many of you are days away from the launch of your Vacation Bible School. Down through the years, there has been perhaps no greater tool for evangelism than VBS. Have you ever thought of using VBS to advance stewardship? This week’s lead post is on just that, Using VBS as a Tool for Increasing Giving. I believe you will find some ideas that will stretch your thinking and enhance your church’s VBS.

Do you know what your members give? Perhaps a better question is should a pastor know what his members are giving? That is an explosive question but one that is worth considering. Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, writes in his column about this in a post entitled Making the Case for Pastors Knowing Giving Trends.

Do you have your summer giving plan in place? Don’t worry, this week’s Bonus Section gives you an overview of the steps you need to take to get ready. It is entitled Your Last-Minute Summer Planning Sheet. It lists out various ideas of how to have your best giving summer ever.
