The Stewardship Coach, Mark Brooks, answers that question in our opening post, The Biggest Reason Churches Fail to Increase Giving. Mark talks about the importance of planning and how to use the calendar to help direct your stewardship plans. As with all of his material, it is filled with good, practical tips and help.

One thing I like about Mark’s writing is that he keeps us focused on the key-giving seasons. Mark’s post this week, entitled How to Be Ahead at the End of the First Quarter, is a perfect example as he begins our thinking about the first few weeks of the New Year. Mark will show you why you need to begin thinking about the New Year and give pointers on how to have your best start ever.

How to Make January Recurring Giving Month is this week’s Bonus Section. Mark continues his focus on starting your New Year off by focusing on recurring giving. Did you know that recurring giving is the lowest fee for any online giving? It also helps stabilize your giving through the more difficult times of the year.

This week’s Mission and Ministry moment is entitled We Give Thanks For You. The “talk” usesThanksgiving as a springboard to express thankfulness for the generosity of your members. By taking a few minutes before each offering, you can teach what biblical stewardship looks like. Each week you can take the “talk” as it is written or edit it to fit your culture and context. We believe you will see a significant increase in giving by doing this.
