From the Desk of Our Executive Director
Welcome back to another edition of the Stewardship Journal. We are grateful for your continued support. Here is a preview of this week’s Journal.
Here is a question that was sent to our team. “If you were a member of the Stewardship Committee at your church, and a big part of your task as a committee was to try to develop overall stewardship in your church, what would be your best 2 or 3 suggestions to develop giving to the Annual General Budget?” With the pastor’s permission, we asked this question and wrote our answer for all to see. The post is entitled Our Best Advice for Developing a Stewardship Strategy. We believe it contains great advice and helps every church.
Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, specializes in building effective end-of-year giving strategies. His column continues his writing on end-of-year planning with his #GivingTuesday Preview. Few churches have utilized #GivingTuesday, but Mark shows us how this worldwide giving event can benefit your church.
This week’s Bonus Section, entitled How to Make Your #GivingTuesday Email Blast Effective, picks up on Mark’s theme, giving practical tips on how your appeals can better impact donors on #GivingTuesday. Even if you don’t utilize #GivingTuesday, you will learn how best to write your next appeal.
The Economy Might Be Down, but Candy Sales Are Up! is this week’s Mission and Ministry offering moment. With Americans thinking about Halloween, this talk helps clarify the important things in life.
Meet The Stewardship Coach at our annual meeting this October 24-25. We are thrilled to have Mark be with us for our Convention, where you can meet him and ask him any questions about stewardship.
Send us your questions, which might be the theme of a future Journal. You can email Rob Phillips at rphillips@mobaptist.org. Remember, if you know of someone who would like to receive the Journal, please send them this link for easy signup – https://mobaptist.org/stewardship/stewardship-journal/. We would love to hear from you!
