Welcome to another Stewardship Journal!

It’s time to get ready for Vacation Bible School! In our last edition of the Stewardship Journal, longtime MBC pastor, Richie Rhea, wrote a post entitled Should We Teach Giving During VBS? We follow up that article with another post about VBS in our Missouri Baptist Pastors Speak Out series, this time on VBS. You will find some great comments but also some practical ideas that you can adapt and implement this year.

Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, writes a column this week entitled The Real Reasons Giving is Declining.Mark tracks some of the classic reasons giving is on the decline and then gives practical ideas on how we can address this.

This week’s Bonus Section isentitled Direct USPS Mail Appeal Sample. The sample given is designed to send out ahead to your leaders about your summer giving program. The letter is a great start for your own letter or edit what is written to fit your context.

We give you two offering moments this week! We won’t be publishing a Stewardship Journal next week so this week’s Mission and Ministry offering section has two talks. One is entitled A Memorial Gift, which focuses on Memorial Day. The other is about VBS and is entitled VBS Trivia.

Remember, due to the Memorial Day holiday there will be no Stewardship Journal next week. The next edition will be posted on June 6^th.
