From My Desk to Yours

From My Desk to Yours

On July 13th, attendees to the Trump rally in Butler PA alerted local police that they had spotted a shooter on a roof minutes before he first fired. Americans are frustrated about why no action was taken to stop him before he could get his shots off. One key factor is emerging as to why. The local police were not able to directly communicate with the Secret Service. The failure of communication resulted in one life being lost and three others being wounded. That is the importance of communication. In this week’s Journal, we will continue our series on capital campaign planning. Here is a preview of our posts.

Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, has a post entitled The Fourth C. The C stands for communication. Mark shares the importance of communicating the vision that drives the campaign. Mark states, “With your members getting blasted with over 3,000 marketing messages daily, how can you get your vision heard above the roar of everything else? I will show you how in this Coach.” Learn the importance of communication when it comes to a capital campaign.

Mark’s Bonus Section is a page from his campaign planning manual titled Communications Team Overview. This overview shares the basics of what a communications team can do for your capital campaign. The Bonus Section is designed as a one-page stand-alone that can be edited and handed out to your team.

Our final post is entitled The Seven Common Mistakes Churches Make. It is said that we often learn more from our mistakes than our successes. This post will help you avoid the most common mistakes leading up to a capital campaign. Find out if you are on the path toward making a mistake and avoid that trap!

Our goal with this series is to give you the resources and tools necessary to hold your own capital campaign. We have made all posts accessible at https://stewardshipjournal.com. We desire that you use these tools to raise the funds you need to support your church’s mission and ministry!

In Jesus’ name!
