“Nonprofit employees want inspired leaders with bold vision: Nonprofit employees ranked vision, relationship building, inspiring trust, and strong communication skills as the most valued elements of leadership.” Those are the first two sentences of our lead post, Without a Vision, Giving Declines. This edition of the Journal focuses heavily on crafting a vision that will motivate people to begin their journey of living generously.

Mark Brooks’, The Stewardship Coach, column, entitled The 2023 Fourth Quarter Giving Guide, begins our planning for end-of-year giving. A big part of that planning is developing a driving vision behind the “ask.” Mark shares that “the formula for any successful giving initiative is Information + Inspiration + Time = Success.” His post then outlines how to accomplish that so you will have your best end-of-year giving initiative. It might surprise you, but now is the time to start thinking, planning, and praying for a great end-of-year giving campaign.

Our Bonus Section is entitled End-of-Year Plan Planning Overview. The title summarizes the post well, an overview of the steps you need from now until December 31st. If I were a pastor, I would print this page off and make it required reading for my team or staff. At the Stewardship Journal, we not only tell you that you need to do something, we show you step-by-step how!

Would you like to write for the Stewardship Journal? Let us know if you have an idea or even an article you think would fit. We are always looking for input from leaders across our state. If you are interested, contact Rob Phillips at rphillips@mobaptist.org. Your idea might be exactly what another pastor needs.
