Welcome back to another edition of the Stewardship Journal. We took a break for Thanksgiving last week, but we are back, helping you close out this year strong and helping get you off to a great start for 2023.

Here is a preview of this week’s Stewardship Journal.

The title of our opening post is To Increase Giving, Increase Bible Reading. We share with you the recent report from the American Bible Society about the Bible reading trends of Americans and how that impacts their faith, including their giving. The American Bible Society has discovered that Scripture engagement is down by 21%. This decline in reading the Bible is already making an impact across the country. Learn what you can do to reverse this decline.

Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, is focused on ending the current year well to ensure financial security in 2023. His post is entitled Ensuring Financial Stability in 2023. Here is a quote, “Do you know the difference between assuring and ensuring? Assure means to provide a guarantee through words but ensure means to make certain through actions. Words alone will not bring about financial stability, but actions will! Act now to ensure your financial stability in 2023.” Mark shares the key actions you need to take both now and at the start of the New Year.

In the Bonus Section, we give you practical advice heading into the month of December. The post is entitled Four December Tips to Make Your End-of-Year Giving a Success. December is typically the best month for giving, and this post will help you maximize your end-of-year results.

After all the bad news we have been forced to endure after another contentious political cycle, this week’s Mission and Ministry moment is aptly named It’s Time for Good News. This talk focuses on Christmas where it needs to be, sharing the Good News of the Gospel. By telling the story of how your church is spreading the Good News of the Gospel, you can motivate your church family to give generously.
