From the Desk of Our Executive Director

Welcome to another edition of the Stewardship Journal. This will be our final Journal of the summer. Next week, Labor Day, we will not publish the Journal.

Here is a preview of this week’s Stewardship Journal.

We begin this edition with a lead post by our own Dr. Neil Franks, President and Treasurer of the Missouri Baptist Foundation, where he begins by telling of driving the backroads of Missouri. We named the post Neil Franks – Driving Through Missouri. Dr. Franks talks about seeing the fields ripe for a harvest and uses that as a springboard to share how we can see a harvest in our lives. As we focus on stewardship, we want to provide the tools and resources for you to be a good steward of your present and your future.

Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, writes a column entitled How to Assess Your Church’s Giving Landscape. Mark discusses the various markers you should track to assess the strength or weakness of your church’s giving. You cannot reverse a decline in giving if you are unaware of its impact. Mark’s post will show you how to measure your giving to better assess what actions might be needed.

Speaking of actions, this week’s Bonus Section is entitled Practical Steps for Gaining and Keeping Your Best Donors. The bonus section this week is filled with ideas on how you can attract and keep new donors and how to motivate long-term donors to keep giving even in their deaths.

This week’s Mission and Ministry offering section is entitled What You Do Matters. It’s a great talk based on the idea of Labor Day and the work we do in the church.

Remember, if you know of someone who would like to receive the Journal, please send them this link for easy signup – https://mobaptist.org/stewardship/stewardship-journal/.

Our prayer is that this Journal will help you continue to build a culture of generosity that will fuel your work for the Kingdom. Thanks for reading. We will be back with another issue on September 12th. Until then keep,

Advancing the Gospel!
