Welcome back to another edition of the Stewardship Journal.

Here is a preview of this week’s Stewardship Journal.

Are you struggling to see online giving be accepted at your church? Our lead post, When It Comes to Giving, Patience Pays, gives great advice on how to address the changes in giving because of new technology. The title gives away that patience is required. Thankfully, the post lays out steps you can take to help your members embrace the new forms of giving.

Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, writes about a new report from the Barna Group entitled Revisiting the Tithe and Offering: The Reality of Church Giving Today. His column, entitled The Hazy Approach to Stewardship, points out how important pastoral leadership is in setting the tone for stewardship. Whether we like it or not, technology has changed how we take up the offering. Mark’s post shows you how to adapt to these changes.

This week’s Bonus Section, entitled Reversing a Financial Trust Fall, points out how crucial trust is in building out your stewardship platform. You will find practical steps and questions that will help you and your financial leadership better communicate with transparency.

This week’s Mission and Ministry offering section is entitled A Tithe to the Lord. This talk is a perfect fit with the focus in this week’s Journal advocating discipling the next generation of faithful stewards. In this “talk,” the concept of the tithe is set forth in a clear and positive light. We believe the offering time is a perfect time and place to educate your members on the biblical command to be good stewards of all God has entrusted to us.

Thanks for reading this week’s Journal! Our prayer is that each issue helps you create and maintain a culture of stewardship that leads to increased generosity.
