From the Desk of Our Executive Director

Welcome back! We took last week off for the 4th of July, and we pray that you had a relaxing and wonderful time with your family. We are excited to be back this week with another Stewardship Journal! And, let me thank everyone who participated in our survey. We are assessing your responses and will have a statement soon. We appreciate the support you have shown!

Here is a preview of this week’s Stewardship Journal.

Our lead post, entitled How Donor Confidence Will Impact Your Giving, is a timely one given the current economic downturn our country is experiencing. Our team looks at a recent Dunham + Company report about donor confidence faltering and how that might impact giving. They then give practical advice on how to head off any decline in giving. I believe you will find this post helpful as you finalize your budget plans for the coming year.

Mark Brooks, The Stewardship Coach, starts a new series in this edition on closing the giving gap coming out of summer with a come-from-behind strategy. Mark’s post this week is entitled Making the Case for a Come-From-Behind Strategy. Mark makes a compelling case for why you need to start now addressing any giving gap you are experiencing. In the weeks to come, Mark will show us how.

This week’s Bonus Section supports the theme of this edition and is entitled The Connecting Power of Vision. The title gives away the main emphasis of how to increase giving through your vision. This post will help you connect that vision to your members and thus increase giving.

Will you be watching the All-Star Game? This week’s Mission and Ministry offering section is entitled Meet Our All-Stars. The talk focuses on the upcoming MLB All-Star game in a unique way. I think you will find a fun and successful way to see your next offering result in an increase in giving.

Remember, if you know of someone who would like to receive the Journal, please send them this link for easy signup –

Our prayer, as always, is that this material will be used to help you continue,

Advancing the Gospel!
